Measuring Opportunity, an NVHF-commissioned issue brief, explores the data and factors behind the Healthy Places Index. The brief shows that life expectancy in Northern Virginia varies by as much as 19 years, and that over 75 percent of that variation is attributable to factors related to housing, transportation, education, economic characteristics, and other household resources.
