Embracing Telehealth in Northern Virginia: How to Maximize Revenue
By: Northern Virginia Health FoundationIn response to the COVID-19 public health emergency, telehealth services have become an indispensable means of providing care to patients. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services recently took measures to make it easier for people enrolled in Medicare, Medicaid, and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) to receive primary, behavioral and oral health care through telehealth services. These measures also grant providers new freedom to offer telehealth services to patients in their homes, perform remote care, serve both established and new patients and bill for these services (video and audio-only) as if they were provided in person. Commercial payers have adopted similar policies to encourage providers to implement telehealth services. To help executive directors, operating and financial officers and billing staff in Northern Virginia learn about the services that may be provided through telehealth and how to optimize revenue by billing appropriately for them, healthcare consultants from RS&F presented and answered questions during a webinar hosted by the Northern Virginia Health Foundation.
