NVHF President and CEO Patricia Mathews was selected as a 2022 Washington Business Journal (WBJ) Women Who Mean Business honoree.
The WBJ Women Who Mean Business Awards recognize women leaders who have made meaningful contributions to the Washington-area community through their professional and philanthropic work.
Ms. Mathews was the first staffer hired at the Northern Virginia Health Foundation when it was created in 2005. Since its inception, the foundation has awarded more than $17 million in grants to organizations that increase access to care for low-income, uninsured and underinsured people.
In a recent conversation with the Washington Business Journal, Ms. Mathews discussed her proudest achievement at NVHF thus far, the importance of listening, the best advice she’s ever received and more.
