Grants
The Northern Virginia Health Foundation makes strategic grants to nonprofit organizations that address the health care needs of residents of Northern Virginia, with particular emphasis on those who live in Alexandria City, Arlington County, Fairfax City and Fairfax County. The Foundation focuses its grantmaking on those organizations that address the Foundation's priorities and promote its values.
Current Grantees (Spring 2011)
Alexandria Neighborhood Health Services
$80,000 to support part of a physician's salary.
Arlington Free Clinic
$80,000 in operating support to support two new allied healthcare professional positions and to develop and implement a three-year technology plan.
Arlington Pediatric Center
$64,000 to support language assistance and transportation services for limited English proficient families and children with special health care needs.
Greater Prince William Community Health Center
$80,000 in operational support for an additional patient advocate position and to help underwrite the cost of oral health services.
Jeanie Schmidt Free Clinic
$80,000 to support the salaries of medical staff.
Loudoun Community Health Center
$80,000 to support mental health staff positions at the clinic.
Northern Virginia Dental Clinic
$80,000 to support clinic staff and a new accounting position.
Northern Virginia Family Service – Multicultural Services Program
$80,000 to support the program director's and clinical coordinator's positions.
NOVA ScriptsCentral
$80,000 to provide operating operating support for the pharmacist position.
Community Foundation for the National Capital Region
$25,000 to support the Greater Washington Workforce Collaborative.
Consumer Health Foundation
$32,500 to support the work of the Regional Primary Care Coalition and the Northern Virginia Health Services Coalition, two projects of the Regional Health Collaboration Initiative.
Washington Grantmakers
$7,500 to help support the work of the Health Working Group.
